Books and Speeches

Most of these quotations, many by Jews, are taken from the books Judaism in Action by Apion, The Secret World Government by Spiridovich,  Economic Solutions by Kershaw, and The Encyclopedia of the Great Quotations by Seldes.  The selections, arranged generally by subject, best capture the conclusions I reach in my book based on the resources listed in the Bibliography, plus others not listed for the sake of space.  They are separated from the text in a Part I so as not to clutter the historical narrative in Part II.  If you read nothing else, read these:

"There is one common bulwark...against the assaults of tyrants:  distrust....Preserve this carefully and no calamity can affect you" (Demosthenes, 385-322 B.C., q in Ketcham, 1986).

"Softly!  Softly!  I want none but the judges to hear me.  The Jews have already gotten me into a fine mess, as they have many another gentleman.   I have no desire to furnish further grist for their mills" (Marcus Tullius Cicero, 106-43 B.C., quoted [q] in Fields, ca. 1975).

"The Jews belong to a dark and repulsive force.  One knows how numerous this clique is, how they stick together, and what power they exercise through their unions.  They are a nation of rascals and deceivers" (Cicero, q in Fields).

"Whoever is a friend of a Jew belongs to them [and] becomes one of them.  GOD cannot tolerate this mean people.  The Jews have wandered away from divine religion, given by Moses.  They are usurpers.  You must not relent in your work which must show up Jewish deceit" (Mohammed, 570-632 A.D., The Koran, q in Spiridovich).

"The sun never did shine on a more bloodthirsty and revengeful people as [the Jews], who imagine to be the people of God....The foremost undertaking which they expect of their Messiah is that he should slay and murder the whole world with the sword....Their breath stinks for the gold

Page 2

and silver of the heathen [but] no people...[are] more avaricious than they [are]...in their cursed usury....My dear Christians,...next to the Devil, you have no more bitter,...poisonous, [or] vehement enemy than a real Jew....Even with no further evidence than the Old Testament, I would maintain...that the Jews...are veritably a mixture of all the depraved and malevolent knaves of the whole world over, who have been dispersed in all countries, similarly to the Tartars, Gypsies, and such folk" (Martin Luther, 1483-1546, The Jews and Their Lies, q in Fields, ca. 1975).

"They [the Jews] work more effectively against us than the enemy's armies. They are a  hundred times more dangerous to our liberties and the great cause we are engaged in...It  is much to be lamented that each state, long ago, has not hunted them down as a pest to society and the greatest enemies we have to the happiness of America" (Maxims of George Washington, A.A. Appleton & Co., quoted by Apion in Judaism in Action, 1992 ) [q in JIA].

"For over 1700 years, the Jews have been bewailing their sad fate [of being] exiled from their homeland, as they call Palestine.  But...if the world [were to give] it to them in fee simple, they would...find some reason for not  returning.  Why?  Because they are vampires, and vampires do not live on vampires.  They cannot live only among themselves.  They must subsist on Christians and other peoples not of their race.  If you do not exclude them from these United States they will have swarmed here in such great numbers that they will dominate and devour the land and change our form of government, for which we Americans have shed our blood, given our lives, our substance and jeopardized our

liberty.  If you do not exclude them, in less than 200 years our descendants will be working in the fields to furnish them substance, while they will be in the counting houses rubbing their hands.  I  warn you, gentlemen, if you do not exclude Jews for all time, your children will curse you in their graves" (Benjamin Franklin, 1706-1790, recorded in the Diary of Charles Cotesworth Pinckney at the Constitutional Convention in 1787, q in JIA).

"They that give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety" (Franklin, q in Kershaw).

"The ruder nations of Europe are willing slaves of Jewish usury" (Gottfried von Herder, ca. 1800, q in Reed 1978).

"The course of government is attended with an insensible descent into evil, and there is no reascending to good without very great efforts" (Montesquieu, 1689-1755, q in Ketcham).

"A nation may lose its liberties in a day and not miss them for a century"(Montesquieu, 1689-1755, q in Seldes).

"There is something behind the throne greater than the king himself" (Sir William Pitt, addressing the British House of Lords in 1770, q in Perloff 1988).

"I believe no people every yet groaned under the heavy yoke of slavery but when they deserved it" (Samuel Adams, 1771 article, q in Seldes).

"[With this U.S. Constitution], we have been brought from  a
Confederacy to a consolidated Government....You are not  to inquire how
your trade may be increased, nor how you are to become a great and
powerful people, but how your liberties can be secured, for liberty ought to be
the direct end of your Government
" (June 5, 1788 speech of Patrick Henry
before the Virginia Ratifying Convention, q in Ketcham, 1986).

"The rulers in all governments will erect an interest separate from the ruled, which will have a tendency to enslave them" ("Cato," New York debate on U.S. Constitution, November 22 and 27, 1787, The New York Journal, January 3, 1788, q in Ketcham).

"Did you ever read of any Revolution in any nation, brought about by the punishment of those in power, inflicted by those who had no power at all?" (Patrick Henry speech, June 5, 1788, q in Ketcham).

Note to reader:  In the comments of the forefathers of the U.S. that follow, it is particularly important to compare and contrast the views of the pragmatic idealists Benjamin Franklin and George Washington with those of the dogmatic idealist Thomas Jefferson, who was clearly influenced by Adam Weishaupt and the Order of the Illuminati

"Single acts of tyranny may be ascribed to the accidental opinion of a

day, but a series of oppressions, begun at a distinguished period, and pursued unalterably through every change of ministers, too plainly proves a deliberate...plan of reducing us to slavery" (Thomas Jefferson:  Writings, q in Peterson, 1984).

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies.  Already they have raised up a money aristocracy that has set the Government at defiance" (Thomas Jefferson, at the Constitutional Convention of 1787, q in Kershaw, 1997).

"The Central Bank [eventually instituted in 1913 under Wilson with the Federal Reserve System] is an institution of the most deadly hostility against...our Constitution.  I am an enemy to all banks, discounting bills, or notes for anything but coin [italics mine].  If the American people allow private banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that...grow up around them will deprive the people of all their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered" (Thomas Jefferson: Writings, q in Peterson).
